"I am a Product Owner and I really enjoyed this course — it gave me a holistic view on making UX Roadmaps. Sarah is a process geek and she shared so many gems I'll be busy applying several months ahead!"
Grace de Athayde, Danfoss A/S, Sønderborg, Denmark
"I was very excited and motivated to dive in and start creating roadmaps with my team. In fact, the very next day, my company kicked off our strategic planning, and I felt MUCH more prepared to contribute as a new manager. Thank you, Sarah, for giving me the tools to understand what was being asked of me in my new role without missing a beat!"
Molly Wilvich, Moz, Seattle, USA
"Highly recommend this course, Roadmaps are new to me and the course provided me with deep understanding plus all the tools and templates to get started. So good."
Janine Kleynhans, Banking, Australia
"On the first day I questioned if the Groundwork wasn't too in depth. There were many examples and details and at the break I was feeling that I had processed a a great deal and worried that we hadn't even gotten to the tangible parts of the process (my poor brain!). But it was truly "grounding" and has been very helpful, applying that information to the practical aspects of roadmapping. I revisited the Groundwork before the second day started and appreciated how it helped me relate my own work to what others have done. (I would have had a more difficult time if it was a one-day course)
I would probably tell someone considering the course to get good rest heading into it. There is a lot to process (even if you have been Roadmapping, in one way or another, for years), but I came away from the course surprised at how much I learned.
The deliverables are outstanding — quite possibly the best I have ever received from a course (and I've taken many courses and workshops).
Mainly, Sarah is a great instructor.
She was engaging while being relaxed. She recognized that virtual communication allows her to (at least appear to) connect directly to each of us and she moved through the course in an easy, inviting way. Her mastery of the information is obvious, but her comfort teaching it made the course a delight. And with Anna, Sarah deftly moved from slides to attendee questions and back. Effortless. And I really appreciated the "quizzes"! To be honest, I wasn't sure how much a 6 hour course in Roadmapping had to offer me. I am unquestioningly better off for attending."
Ben Kimmel, Truist Bank, Durham, NC, USA

"I loved it, excellent content and resources. You can tell the instructor and team behind it put a ton of effort in providing different types of content to support the attendees after the course."
Erika Grijalva, Austin, TX
"As somebody who has never created roadmaps, the course was a great learning experience for me. Sarah paced the course really well by spending a fair amount of time laying good foundations for UX roadmaps covering the purpose, contexts of use, basics of structure and components followed by the process of roadmapping which included helpful hands-on exercises. I really appreciate the fact that instead of a rigid set of info, I was given all the ingredients and armed with methods to cook dishes i.e. building roadmaps, to suit various contexts. Both Sarah and Anna dug deep into their experience to answer really well all the questions that the participants had on the topic. I'm really glad that I took the course. It cleared some major mental blocks that I had about roadmapping. I'm confident that with practice I'll make the most of the learnings and deliver value to teams and organizations that I work with."
Praveen Bandaru, Cognizant, Edinburgh, UK

"I have always been a big fan of Sarah's videos on NN/g website, so I was very excited to attend her course. She is even better in person (remotely, sadly). I love the energy and passion from her during the course. She answered every question with examples/past experiences and it helped me a ton regardless if I was in the situation. After the course, I am now confident in telling what's good vs. bad when managing roadmaps, and coming up with plans to create any roadmap."
Yuan Zhou, Kimberly-Clark, Atlanta, USA
"If you are involved in strategic planning for your team or company, this is a great course to help guide you to success."
"Fabulous job by Sarah taking us through the fundamentals of UX roadmaps, this is knowledge I'll be taking to my position and utilizing. Excellent summary for UX folk who have little to mid knowledge on road maps. I'm sad I missed out on the group activities due to my son being sick, but enjoyed the course nonetheless. Shoutout to our moderator Anna too for doing a cracking job , will return next year for more courses!"
Benjamin Sopher, Detection Technologies, Calgary, Alberta, Canada

"During the course, you will start seeing all the possible structural flaws of your product's current roadmap and later pass your suggestions to leadership or take ownership of it. The only downside of this course is that's even if it's a top-down approach, all practice and assessment will be on you. So take this course and then practice on your own or with your team."
Yevhen, Settle, Lviv, Ukraine

I found it extremely valuable to be able to know what is a must-have vs. a nice-to-have, and learned solid processes for building and maintaining a roadmap. The focus on alignment with others and communication of roadmaps throughout the process was the perfect framework for not only driving value through roadmap deliverables, but also for increasing personal professional skills. Sarah was wonderful - an engaging presenter, and I appreciated how much she extended herself to everyone in the class for follow-up questions and providing additional resources."
Cheryl Moran, Bazaarvoice, Austin, TX USA

"I absolutely benefitted from this course - I think I'll really realize that benefit when I'm able to spend more time with the course materials and apply that to my real-world working life. This was equal parts validation that I have been taking the right approach with roadmaps and extensive additional knowledge on how to approach them (and why)."
Tim Roberts, Webster Bank, Plantsville, CT
"I have read the road map article from NN group in the past and made a road map based on that. But there's so much more to road mapping than just having the road map display your work. I think it is life changing to understand how a road map comes to live to earn buy in and is actually going to be used by the team."
Dirk de Wit, On Air, Utrecht, the Netherlands

Normally when we think of roadmaps, we might think of it in terms of showing who is working on what project and timelines. Anna taught us that a UX Roadmap should be "Outcome or Problem to be Solved". That way, the teams are working on projects toward the greater goods of getting the ideal outcomes for the customers. I also appreciate the time that Anna took to put together a great toolkit for us to refer to, as well as comparing for us tools that might do the job. Highly recommended!"

A roadmap is a high-level strategy outlining when and what a product team is going to work on. This living, collaborative document communicates your UX strategy to your immediate team, engineers, and stakeholders.
UX roadmaps are malleable: they can work on a granular-level to align specific UX tasks to short-horizon goals or they can work on a high-level to inform strategy, aligning discovery and exploratory initiatives to long-horizon business objectives.
