April 4 - 8
Rapidly develop your UX visioning and strategic leadership skills in this 5-day program of hands-on seminars and workshops led by two expert instructors.
Q: How does this differ from NN/g’s UX Conference?
While both formats offer hands-on learning from UX experts, Series events differ from the UX Conference in the following ways:
Series | UX Conference |
---|---|
Provides a streamlined content track, presenting concepts in a prescribed order over a longer period of time | Allows for more flexibility: One-day courses can be taken in any order, over any period of time |
Deeper networking with the same small group of UX learners over 5 days | Because courses are à la carte, each day has a different group of attendees |
No redundant content or repeated, intro-level recaps, leaving more time for practicing applying the knowledge you learn |
Because each course has a different group of attendees, instructors can’t assume everyone has the same background knowledge on the topic. As a result, more time is spent in covering foundational concepts. |
A single exam, worth 3 certification credits in one speciality (5 credits are required to earn UX certification, so the series gives you a big head start) | Each course has a different exam, and is worth one credit each |
Each series is led by two instructors, ensuring more instructor-participant time | Each course is led by one instructor |
Q: Who should take a Series?
This program will be ideal for those wishing to gain a solid understanding of a specific UX topic in a short period of time and in a logical order, and to have the time to put theory in practice.
Q: Can I take a Series if I don’t want to participate in activities?
No. This format is not ideal for anyone uninterested in participating in hands-on activities in a remote format. Each day of the series will include hands-on exercises building on the work done the day before. Every attendee should arrive prepared to do focused, intense activities in a small group. Participation in the hands-on activities is required.
Q: Will I be UX Certified after taking this series?
After you complete the series, you'll have the opportunity to take an exam (at no extra charge.) If you pass the exam, you'll earn 3 credits towards a UX Certification.
To become UX Certified, you'll only need 2 additional credits, which you can complete at any UX Conference.
With intensive hands-on practice and optional exam-based UX Certification, NN/g training provides the knowledge, skills, and credibility you need to create designs that are both usable and appealing.
UX training is a valuable investment
Learning how to create more successful interfaces is cheap compared to the amount of time and money organizations waste on uninformed design debates, poor decisions and fixing underperforming interfaces. Well-informed people drive good decisions and avoid costly mistakes.
UX Certification
UX Certification reinforces and tests the user-experience abilities and knowledge gained in NN/g courses. Boost your credibility by being UX Certified by internationally-recognized experts.
Based on empirical research
Research is the foundation of our training courses. We've observed thousands of people interacting with interfaces. We are continually testing new interfaces and compiling data which we provide in our courses to help attendees eliminate opinion-based design arguments back at the office.
Decades of experience in UX
Nielsen Norman Group principals and instructors have published the most cited literature in the field of user experience including Jakob Nielsen's "Designing Web Usability, " Don Norman's "The Design of Everyday Things," and Bruce Tognazzini's "Tog on Software Design." Our instructors are seasoned UX professionals that base their courses on the real demands of the jobs our attendees need to do. Our materials and exercises are rooted in the reality we have experienced throughout our careers.
Practical Education
The Series events run for 5 consecutive days, with 4.5 hours each day. This allows attendees to embrace a topic, learn methods, and apply these methods in activities to absorb the subject matter. However, the virtual and half-day format offers flexibility -- employees don't have to take off a full week of work to learn a valuable new skill.
