Changes to UX Certification Specialties

Announcements

UX Certification Program Specialties have changed: Effective January 10, 2019.

The Web Design and Mobile & Multi-Channel UX Specialties were discontinued, and courses which previously counted towards those Specialties will now receive credit towards the Interaction Design Specialty

This change is based on feedback that web and mobile are so ubiquitous in interaction design that these UXC Specialties are not highly sought after by our attendees; and that simplifying the Specialties will make the UX Certification Program more understandable, and will enable more people to earn a Specialty.

Attendees who have already earned these Specialties will keep that credential.

NN/g will continue to offer the following three Specialties: UX Management, Interaction Design, and UX Research.

Grace period until December 20, 2019: UX Certification Program participants who have already earned at least one credit towards the Web Design or Mobile & Multi-Channel UX Specialty, and who wish to complete the Specialty, have the option to do so by attending all 5 required courses for that Specialty prior to December 20, 2019, and then passing the related exams. Please refer to this schedule of courses eligible for credit during this grace period.  If the Specialty is not completed during this grace period, then any accrued credit which has not already received dual credit with another Specialty will be automatically transferred to the Interaction Design Specialty.

We continually evolve the UX Certification Program and believe these changes will improve the program. If you have any questions about these change, please contact us at [email protected].
